Vision
Group Vision insurance plans vary just as Group Health plans do. If a Vision plan is connected to an HMO (Health Maintenance Organization), employees usually must see in-network providers. If the vision plan is connected to a PPO (Preferred Provider Organization), participants can see out-of-network providers but must pay more to do so. Basic vision benefits usually include an annual eye exam and pair of glasses or contact lenses.
When shopping for a vision plan, it's important to consider where the in- and out-of-network physicians are located in relation to where your employees live and work.
